Isn’t it great when you try something new and LOVE the way it turns out?! One of the reasons I decided to do this challenge was to step outside of my comfort zone and be creative with how I put together outfits. I couldn’t be happier with this burgundy, mustard yellow and leopard combo.
Today I’m bringing in a little more color. I love this combination of burgundy and blue and I wouldn’t have thought to put them together before this challenge. It’s supposed to be 75 degrees here today (😳), so I’m thankful I added this lightweight blouse to the collection. I’ll probably ditch the blazer though as it warms up during the day.
The It’s Day 1 of the 30 for 30 Challenge! I must admit, I’m starting off pretty safe with today’s OOTD.
When we break this look down, it all begins with a basic black shirt and black pants. Pretty boring, right. It’s the accessories, however, that take this outfit up a notch. The military style vest adds interest, the burgundy suede heels add a pop of color, and the Stella & Dot Colette statement necklace is the icing on the cake.
Happy Friday, Friends! It’s been quite an eventful week at The Daily Adia and I’m looking forward to some downtime this weekend. Oh and watching the Superbowl, of course! Here’s this week’s Friday’s Fab Five:

I’m still riding high from last night’s FB live event. Thanks so much to all who joined and asked questions! In case you missed it, the video is still available on this page. Feel free to shoot me any additional questions that you may have and I’d be happy to answer them.
Today, I’m sharing how I’m staying organized during the 30 for 30 Challenge. It’s though an app called Stylebook. It’s basically like walking aroundwith your closet on your phone. You take pictures of everything in your closet, and from there, you can put together outfits right on your phone or tablet. I think it’s also helpful when you’re out shopping. You can easily see what you already have in our wardrobe or if the shirt you’re thinking about buying will match anything in your closet. Those are just a couple of the many uses.
I’ve wanted to try the Stylebook app for awhile, but the thought of photographing everything in my closet was overwhelming. The 30 for 30 Challenge is a great opportunity to try it on a small scale and I’m excited to see how it works out.
Each day of the challenge, I’ll share my OOTD pic along with how I put it together using the Stylebook app. Below are some sneak peaks of outfits I put together for the challenge.
p.s. This post is in no way sponsored, I just found this cool app and wanted to share my find with all of you. 😃
A few years ago, I stumbled upon the 30 for 30 Challenge made famous by fashion blogger Kendi from Kendi Everyday. The basic premise was to take 30 items from your closet (including shoes and accessories) and remix those items for 30 days. Oh and you couldn’t shop for new things during that time. I tried it and had fun thinking of creative new ways to wear old things.
Since then, I’ve noticed that capsule (or minimalist) wardrobes have popped up all over Pinterest and fashion blogs with an emphasis on having a small wardrobe (30 items or less) and building it around a basic pieces that could be mixed and matched.
Over the past couple of years, I’ve tried to implement this idea within my own closet. It’s nowhere close to being minimalist, however I am buying less and investing a little more on quality pieces that I absolutely love. I still give in to impulse purchases every now and then. (I inherited the inability to pass up a bargain from my Grandma.) But for the most part, I know what I like and I know what will work well within my wardrobe.
With that in mind, I’m ready to take the challenge again. This time I’m taking you along for the ride, sharing tips on how you can mix and match your closet, too.
Below is a picture of my 30 pieces. Tomorrow I’ll show them to you individually and let you know why I chose each one. And then on Thursday I’ll share the app that’s going to keep me organized. The Challenge will officially kick off on Monday.
This is going to be so much fun! I hope that you will enjoy it as much as I know I will.
Happy Monday, Friends! First, let me apologize for being MIA the past few days, including missing Friday’s Fab Five. I’ve been working behind the scenes and have some exciting things coming up next month, so I hope you’ll forgive me. Trust me, it’ll be worth it. 😃
Now on to today’s OOTD. Have you ever lost an article of clothing and then found it at the most random time? I thought for sure I had lost this sweater when we moved last year or I’d given it away in an organizing and cleaning fit. I was so excited when I found it this weekend. And just in time to layer up for today’s super cold temps.
Tomorrow I’ll have a sneak peak at one of the things I’ve been working on—a fun feature for the month of February.
This is our midweek reminder to keep moving forward. It’s so easy to get bogged down in the details that you don’t know which way to go or give up before you even get started. I’m reminding us all that it doesn’t have to be perfect and we don’t have to have all the answers. Just take the next step (no matter how small) toward the goal.
